But the resources used are not free or paid for by the person who is taking all the effort - but I will not deny that a lot of people who take to the Open Culture movement are spending their own money, time and resources for the benefit of mankind. This <I>is</I> a great idea, but the inherent problem is that it cannot be self-sustaining (unless it breaks the laws of thermodynamics!). <BR/>"Looky here, city boy. Huge internet hosting space ain't growin' on trees." Considering that <I>most</I> of the organization is run by volunteers, they still need people to do work, and servers and internet rights, licensing etc. That costs a lot of money (especially on a global scale). So I don't find anything revoltingly wrong about the appeal made. But I do think they could have simply left it as a link from the main page that says 'Donate/Support' - as do most Open projects.<BR/><BR/>On a probably pragmatic, yet morbidly myopic point of view, hey, it's tax-deductible!
